Oaklawn, Lacasa break ground on next housing partnership
Community partners broke ground July 6 for a new 8-unit housing development in Goshen, Westplains II. The development marks yet another partnership between Oaklawn and Lacasa, Inc. and is largely funded through the Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority. DJ Construction will build the unit, located on Westplains Drive.
“Everything we do needs to be built to last,” said Lacasa President and CEO Chris Kingsley. “We believe in programming that creates a lasting impact and lasting success.”
That’s exactly what this housing helps provide, said Oaklawn President and CEO Laurie Nafziger.
“Having a safe and stable place to go home to makes it easier and more likely that people will engage in services. The flip side of that coin is that treatment boosts their ability to maintain housing,” she said. “Time and again, we’ve seen positive progress in the lives of our clients that starts with housing.”
