Medical Services
At Oaklawn, our medical team plays a key role in helping you achieve stability, manage symptoms and feel more in control of your life. We offer psychiatric evaluations, ongoing medication management and specialized treatment for substance use disorders, including Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT). Our goal is to help you feel better, function well and move toward health and wholeness.
Psychiatric Care
Our psychiatric medical team, which includes psychiatrists, nurse practitioners and nurses, work with you to understand your symptoms, history and goals. Together, we create a care plan that fits your needs.
Psychiatric services include:
- Diagnostic assessments
- Medication evaluation and prescribing
- Onoing symptom monitoring
- Collaboration with your therapist and care team
- Support for anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, ADHD, psychosis and more
Medication Management
Medication can be a helpful tool for many people working toward recovery and mental wellness. Our team carefully monitors medications to ensure they are safe, effective and well-tolerated.
With medication management, you can expect:
- Regular check-ins with your provider
- Adjustments based on how you’re feeling
- Education about how your medication works
- Help navigating side effects or concerns
- Coordination with therapy and other supports
Not everyone needs medication, but for those who do, it can be a powerful step toward stability and healing.
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
Oaklawn offers Medication Assisted Treatment for individuals living with opioid use disorder and alcohol use disorder. MAT combines medication with counseling and recovery support, helping reduce cravings, prevent relapse and support long-term recovery.
MAT may help you:
- Reduce withdrawal symptoms safely
- Manage cravings and triggers
- Build structure and support in recovery
- Stay engaged in treatment and daily life
- Focus on goals for healthy living
