Construction Update for our South Bend Campus

Beginning May 26, ongoing road construction near our South Bend campus will affect traffic patterns and parking access through the end of July. We want to help visitors plan ahead and arrive safely and smoothly during this time.

Road Closures

Please note the following construction schedule:

  • May 26 – July 31 (estimated): Madison Street west of Niles Avenue will be closed.
  • June 1 – June 30: The intersection of Niles Avenue and Madison Street will be fully closed.

These closures may impact your usual route to campus, so we encourage everyone to allow extra travel time when visiting.

Recommended Traffic Route

If you are approaching Oaklawn from the south, please follow this detour route:

  • Take Hill Street north from LaSalle Avenue
  • Turn west onto Cedar Street
  • Continue south on Niles Avenue
  • Follow Niles to the main entrance

Please watch for posted construction signs and use caution in the area.

Parking Information

To help maintain access for visitors and clients during construction, parking arrangements will be adjusted:

  • The main parking lot in front of the Oaklawn building will be reserved for clients.
  • Additional parking will be available near the Community Education Center.
  • Street parking will remain available on Niles Avenue, Cedar Street and portions of Madison Street (between Niles and Hill)
  • Overflow parking will also be available at the southeast corner of Niles and Madison.
