How has your career grown since you started?

This is my sixth position at Oaklawn. I started as Mental Health Technician for the residential program. I left to pursue a graduate program and returned as care facilitator. Since then, I’ve worked as a therapist, a team leader and an infant/early childhood mental health consultant.

What do you look forward to each day at work?

Every day is a new day with new surprises. I have a team who is there for each other and sees me as a professional.

What’s a memorable or rewarding experience you’ve had on the job?

Occasionally, I bump into families with whom I used to work. We still remember each other and share updates. It’s always rewarding when parents share that they are still using skills that were learned or if the child still remember our time together.

What makes Oaklawn unique compared to other workplaces?

Oaklawn has raised me as a professional. This is the place to be to gain high-quality clinical experience. Moreover, the variety of jobs allows for career mobility, both vertically and horizontally.
