Help Welcome Clients Home
Six months ago, Brian Kilmer moved out of Faith Mission and into his own home – an apartment on Benham Avenue that helps people experiencing homelessness achieve long-term stability. With support from Oaklawn’s homeless outreach team, Brian moved in to a fully-furnished apartment – giving him the freedom to focus on his new life and his health.
Safe and stable housing is foundational to recovery, letting people focus on their mental and physical health, education and employment and community participation. Oaklawn is working toward housing solutions that lead to lower rates of homelessness, increased mental health and addiction treatment and a lesser burden on emergency services.
This winter, we’ll open another eight apartments at Lakeview Drive for people starting a new chapter. Help us make them a home by donating to our “Housing” fund.
