Camp Mariposa Helps Kids Heal

Gracie is a bright and bubbly 10 year old. She likes Camp Mariposa for all the fun things she gets to do there – play 9 Square, swim, canoe. It’s where she met her best friend, and every night at camp feels like a sleepover.

But this camp is more than just fun and games. It’s a place where kids who have a loved one facing addiction can learn and heal.

Gracie started attending camp last year, when her mom Rebecca was incarcerated related to her substance use disorder and Gracie was in foster care. Today, Gracie and Rebecca are both back home and the entire family is moving forward, grateful for the community they’ve found in Camp Mariposa.
