Mental Health Series: Assertive Community Treatment

September 27, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 am

Assertive community treatment (ACT) is a form of community-based mental health care for individuals experiencing serious mental illness that interferes with their ability to live in the community, attend appointments with professionals in clinics and hospitals, and manage mental health symptoms. Join us to learn how this model is implemented at Oaklawn and with our clients.

As a result of this presentation, attendees will:

  • Describe what is Assertive Community Treatment
  • Understand the benefits of ACT services in the community
  • Describe where and when ACT is most effective and what is different from traditional Outpatient Services.
  • Describe Oaklawn’s implementation of its Intensive Community-Based Services (ICS) program

Speaker

Mathew Peters, LCSW, Team Leader St. Joseph County Adult Case Management
