Learn about Oaklawn’s Crisis Center and how it completes our community’s continuum of crisis care.

Learning objectives: Participants will leave with an understanding of:

  • The evolving mental health and substance use needs in our communities and the changes in the national landscape to meet these challenges.
  • The goals of a behavioral health crisis continuum.
  • The components of a behavioral health crisis continuum and how to access them.

Trainings are open to clinicians, social service agency workers, front-line staff, teachers and anyone interested in mental health services.

Clinicians who complete this training will receive one (1) category 1 CEU.

Meet the Trainers:

  • Liz O’Connor, LCSW, is the Team Leader for the Crisis Stabilization Center at Oaklawn. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Saint Mary’s College and a Master of Social Work degree from Western Michigan University. She is passionate about helping people gain access to mental health services when they need it.
  • Kelli Liechty, LCSW, is the Vice President of Access and Crisis Services at Oaklawn. Kelli strives to create low barrier access to needed mental health services to target individuals when and where the need is. Kelli brings extensive leadership experience having worked in a variety of settings including community mental health centers, federally qualified health centers, public schools and hospital systems.
  • Ricky Mountsier, MSW, is Director of Crisis Services at Oaklawn Psychiatric Center. He is passionate about building a responsive and informed crisis continuum of care that aligns with national and state level systems. Partnering with individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use related crisis and honoring their lived experience is central to the work he does.
